Just like the women who carry them, each of our handbags is one-of-a-kind with its own distinctive style.
The pattern and sizing are consistent for all bags of the same model, but no two are exactly alike.
We create each bag one at a time with its own special detailing and character. Every bag has a unique combination of repurposed and new leathers, hardware, straps and handles for truly individual and environmentally sustainable style.
Bianca Pettinari founded BD503 in Portland, Oregon after 20 years living and working in Italy.
Bianca has designed collections for international brands such as:
Donna Karan Collection, John Galliano, Coach, Blumarine, VPL by Victoria Bartlett, Blugirl, Bruno Magli, Costume National,
Cole Haan, Hunting World, Calvin Klein,
Etienne Aigner, Les Copains, Theory,
Devecchi, BCBGirls, Hollywould,
DKNY and now ... BD503.
Without compromising quality, we're giving materials new life so carrying our bags doesn't add to the devastating environmental costs of non-biodegradable, petroleum based PVC and polyurethane or those associated with producing new leather.
We source vintage garments in Italy and the U.S.A., fully recondition the leather and pair it with only certified exotics and top-quality excess leather from traditional Italian manufacturing.
handmade in America
We love making each and every bag in our Portland, Oregon studio.
With our small team of skilled and dedicated people, we're proud to honor the heritage of traditional craftsmanship.
Making quality products in America is a fundamental part of how we're making sure to reduce our impact on the world's ecosystem.
